Recover Windows 11 Deleted Files

Having unintentionally emptied your computer’s Recycle Bin, you later discover that you truly needed something that had been in there. Fortunately, there’s no need to panic, since the situation is perfectly safe. The deleted object can be retrieved if you are running Windows Backup.

To do this, here’s what you need to do:

-Locate the Trash can icon on your computer’s desktop and press the right mouse button on it.
-Use the right-click menu to choose Open.
-Look for the file you wish to recover in the next window. You may also look for the file in the search menu.
-Find the file you want to restore, then right-click on it and select Restore from the option that appears.
-Simply choose all of the files you want to restore.
-Then pick Restore the chosen items or Restore all things from the Manage menu in the toolbar.

New Themes to Microsoft Edge Browser

Windows 11’s Mica theme makes window borders and title bars look like they’re made of transparent material. There have been speculations that the experimental ‘Mica’ effect is about to get a bigger rollout in Microsoft Edge.

According to WindowsLatest, “Mica is now visible in the title bar, tabs stripe and even the bookmark/favourites stripe. Additionally, Microsoft Edge tabs also have rounded edges now. The Mica integration means less of a performance hit as compared to Acrylic, and the overall idea is to add some shininess to the browser.”

You’ll discover that you have the ability to alter the look of Microsoft Edge to suit your preferences under the Settings section of the browser. This has a bright mode and a dark mode, in addition to several different theme options.

It’s important to remember the browser will have to be restarted for the changes to be implemented.

The Purpose of Autopatch Feature

In business settings, Windows Autopatch is a service that ensures that all instances of Windows and Microsoft 365 products are always running the most recent version. This week, Microsoft announced that the public preview version of Windows Autopatch is now available.

“Windows Autopatch leverages Windows Update for Business and other service components to update devices. It simply provides a solution for those companies seeking a more automated and “hands off” approach to deploying updates. Those who want or need to manage and customize the update experience – using tools such as Windows Update for Business, Microsoft Endpoint Manager, and WSUS – can continue to do so.”

Quick Tip: Finding Files on Windows OS

We save so many documents and files on our PC due to school, work, or even personal time. The fact that we frequently fail to recall the location of a specific file is one of the most widespread problems when using Windows OS.

It’s possible that this will be a huge pain in the neck. As a consequence of this, we have some straightforward recommendations for you regarding this issue.

It is not necessary to search through the entirety of the computer and all of its files in order to locate a certain file. After confirming that you can still recall the name of this file, proceed to input it into the search box located in the bottom-left corner of the screen. You can click on the Start Menu, or click the Windows logo to get started.

The system will show the files with names that are similar to the one you wish to work with, and you will have the option to pick and open the file that you want to use.

Windows OS in S Mode

Windows 11 in S mode is a version of the Windows operating system that has been simplified for the purposes of improving both security and performance, while maintaining the Windows-like user experience.

What is S Mode, exactly?

Simply put, a Windows OS that has more restrictions and is harder to access is Windows 10, or Windows 11 in S Mode.

For instance, when using Windows 10 in S Mode, the only place from which you can download apps is the Store, and Microsoft Edge is the only browser that can be used to surf the internet. When using Windows 11 in S Mode, you can visit the Microsoft Store to download and install other web browsers. However, Edge will be set as your default web browser.

Long story, short: Only apps downloaded from the Microsoft Store are permitted, and users are need to have Microsoft Edge installed in order to conduct secure web browsing.

Security is enhanced, since malware cannot infiltrate through the internet in S Mode. You cannot install any form of apps from the browser.

What’s the point?

Tech blog, How-to-Geek explains it perfectly. “S Mode sounds limited, and that’s the point. If you only need a basic Microsoft Edge web browser, Microsoft Office applications like Word, and anything else that’s available in the Microsoft Store, you should try using the PC in S Mode. The S Mode restrictions provide additional protection against malware.”

Microsoft Releases OOB Patch

Microsoft has released a patch to address a problem triggered by a previous patch that was intended to address a different type of issue. The company has released an out-of-band (OOB) update that addresses a fault that prevented applications downloaded from the Windows Store from operating properly on the PCs.

We shared a blog post back in January, explaining what an OOB is. Out-of-band patches are updates delivered outside of the standard release timetable. A patch, sometimes known as a “fix,” is a short technique for repairing software.

Microsoft states that, “After installing KB5011831 or later updates, you might receive an error code: 0xC002001B when attempting to install from the Microsoft Store.”

Simply put, some Microsoft Store applications may fail to launch. And to resolve the problem, Microsoft released cumulative update KB5015020. It will not be automatically installed, so users will need to personally install the patch for it to be fixed.

Go to Updates in your Settings app and select the update. Then download and install.

Potentially Unwanted Applications

PUAs include, but are not limited to, tools for system management and other tools with functions equivalent to those of PUAs. Other tools with functions comparable to those of PUAs are also examples of PUAs. When all of the program functions and advantages that are made available by the software are utilized by the user, then the value of these tools is maximized.

What are PUA’s?

PUA is an abbreviation that is used to refer to potentially unwanted applications. These programs give users access to a large range of software, all of which may be managed from a single location. In addition, the overwhelming majority of people would want to steer clear of having them.

When malicious hackers attack or enter a system, they typically use the system’s own components to give themselves access to a greater variety of capabilities that they may then exploit. In addition, attackers will occasionally utilize tools made by third parties that they have acquired from the internet rather than constructing their own tools. This is because it is easier for them to do so. After that, they will include these downloaded tools into their framework as an integrated component, which will result in an increased amount of malicious payload associated with the framework.

These issues are not difficult and may be resolved in a very short period of time. Choose App & browser control from the menu on the page where you change the security settings for Windows. Choose the appropriate protective settings based on your preferences. When you arrive to that screen, pick the option to restrict apps that might be harmful to your computer, and then make sure it’s turned on.

Uninstall Optional Update, Microsoft Says

Users of Windows 11 are advised to uninstall a recent update, according to Microsoft.

Named “KB5012643”, this particular update has been causing a ruckus. Many programs are crashing as a result of the optional update, according to various sources.

One of the issues is the interaction between the update and .Net Framework, which is pre-installed on Windows. Because it is presently unknown which programs are afflicted by the problem, the only solution is to remove the update. Doing so is simple and effective.

How to uninstall this update:

  1. Locate ‘Windows Update Settings’ in the start menu.
  2. Click ‘View Update History’ from that window.
  3. ‘Uninstall Update’ should be selected.
  4. Locate ‘KB5012643’ and choose ‘Uninstall’.

Microsoft Edge 2nd Popular Browser

Despite the fact that Microsoft Edge is not a new browser, many Windows users are only now becoming aware of the most recent version. The Microsoft Edge web browser has a number of unexpectedly brilliant features that should put it in the running to be your primary internet browser.

With a market share of up to 10%, Microsoft Edge has surpassed as the second most popular desktop browser. Chrome is still the most popular browser, with 67 percent of the market, but Safari has slid to third place, just ahead of Mozilla’s Firefox browser. StatCounter provides the data for these stats.

According to WindowsLatest, “As per April 2022 market share report, Microsoft Edge has now crossed the 10% share in browser market. While Google Chrome lost its 0.65 share and its coverage dropped to 66.64%, Edge added 0.42 points and now has 10.07% share.”

It’s worth noting that numerous enhancements have been made to the Microsoft Edge browser in the last several months. Give it a try and see for yourself.
