Google Chrome Update Date Announced

Google has announced when the upcoming Chrome 110 upgrade will be made available.

With this update, Chrome will no longer function on computers running Windows 7 or Windows 8.1. The provisional date for the update’s release is February 7th, 2023.

Internet rumors suggest that Google Chrome will keep working on unsupported operating systems, but those users will be left out of future updates.

Upgrading to a supported OS version before the aforementioned date will guarantee that you get the latest Chrome feature improvements and security patches if you are currently using Windows 7 or Windows 8.1.

Microsoft Warns Loss of Data

Recently discovered problems with rebooting virtual drives through the Server Manager control panel have been acknowledged by Microsoft, and the company has issued a warning to that effect.

According to Bleeping Computer, this vulnerability might cause data corruption if administrators try to reset (or clean) a virtual drive and accidentally reset the wrong disk. Errors may pop up in the process.

This may cause issues with Windows Server 2019 and 2022, and Windows 11 22H2.

Applications Won’t Work

When an application fails to install on your computer or it won’t work properly, it could be for a handful of reasons. Your computer’s hardware and software probably aren’t compatible with the program in question.

The prerequisites for running any given piece of software on a computer are known as its “system requirements.” These might be anything from simple programs to graphically intensive apps. You may experience slowed performance or the application may not load at all if your machine does not meet these criteria.

Try restarting your computer, first. If that doesn’t seem to alleviate the problem, you may have low disk space. Programs like Disk Cleanup can assist with that.

Turn off Android Alerts to Help Battery

Faster smartphones are on the horizon, and with each software upgrade comes a slew of new functions designed to streamline your daily routine. Unfortunately, this technology may potentially shorten the lifespan of your device’s battery.

If you have too many notifications set up on your Android, its battery life may suffer.

To enable alerts on your gadget, go to its settings and then notifications. A directory of available apps will appear. Select More to see every app that has been added to your phone. Pick the program you wish to limit the notifications it sends for.

To exit the program, toggle the off button next to its title. You can also access the individual apps’ notification settings by clicking on them.

What is SAC?

According to Microsoft, the capacity of Smart App Control to terminate potentially dangerous or otherwise unreliable applications enables an effective defense against new and unanticipated threats.

With the SAC, potentially undesirable programs, such as those that cause your device to run more slowly or carry out other unexpected actions, can be prevented from spamming your PC.

Simply search for Smart App Control on your Windows 11 device to learn more.

Windows OS is Unresponsive – Fast Startup

Turning off this feature could be the quickest and easiest approach to solve this problem.

The useful function known as “Fast Startup” maintains your Windows OS in the hibernation mode so that it does not need to be completely relaunched after it has been shut down. This results in a significantly quicker reboot. Even though it is useful in the majority of situations, it may also cause Windows to become unresponsive, and either crash or freeze up.

To turn Fast Startup off, here’s what you gotta do:

  1. Go to System in the Settings App
  2. Choose Power & sleep and then Additional power settings
  3. Click Choose what the power button does
  4. From there, on Change settings that are currently unavailable, turn off the Turn on fast startup option
