Upcoming iOS 16 Feature is a Big One

While still in beta mode, the upcoming iOS 16 will include a new feature that will sidestep CAPTCHA’s.

According to MacRumors, “When enabled, Apple says iCloud will automatically and privately verify your device and Apple ID account in the background, eliminating the need for apps and websites to present you with a CAPTCHA verification prompt.”

Apple shared how the bypass works, calling it a “Private Access Token”. It confirms the user’s device and Apple ID account are in excellent shape for app or website access. Users will have a better user experience and more accessibility with this new solution than with CAPTCHAs when registering for a service or creating an account, for example.

Simply told, iOS 16 will avoid those terrible checks on applications and websites that require you to show you’re not a robot.

Free Up Space on Mac

If you delete trash files on a regular basis, you will be able to limit the amount of clutter on your computer. Doing so avoids you having to engage in a prolonged purge of eliminating old files when you are either fully out of space or almost out of space.

However, if your Mac is low on storage space, here’s a quick way to remedy it.

Access the Storage section by clicking the Apple symbol in the menu bar, selecting About This Mac, and selecting Storage. From there, select the Manage option.
Select the Applications option. You will see a listing of all apps ordered by the amount of storage space they require. Select the software or applications you wish to delete, then click Delete.
The removed applications are moved to the Trash. Emptying the Trash will free up more space.

You can also download AppCleaner, an app that removes apps and its files quickly.

Blocking Phone Numbers on iPhone

There are plenty of reasons as to why phone users would want to block unnecessary calls, such as spam. Here’s a quick way to do it:

  1. To delete a caller from your list of recent callers, open the Phone app and select Recents from the menu.
  2. After tapping the information icon that appears next to the number of the caller that you want to block, pick the Block Caller option.
  3. After you have done scrolling down the menu, locate the option to Block this Caller at the very bottom of the screen. Tap the Block Contact button once more to confirm that you really do wish to block this individual.
  4. To reactivate the caller’s ability to reach you, select the “Unblock this Caller” option.

Rapid Security Response from Apple

At WWDC, Apple announced a new, upcoming feature called “Rapid Security Response”. While the topic wasn’t thoroughly discussed during the event, enough details were given to give us an idea of what to expect.

With Rapid Security Response, some upgrades may no longer require a restart of the device in order to take effect; rather, they will do so as soon as they are loaded. For the vast majority of iOS and MacOS users, a full system patch is required before they may get additional security for their devices.

The key word emphasized is “some”. This means this response will not work with all updates. We shall see how it all plays out in the near future.

Apple’s Self Service Repair

In April, Apple made the announcement that their Self Service Repair is accessible.

The Apple Self Service Repair Store is the location where customers can obtain repair instructions as well as authentic Apple components and equipment. The website sells more than two hundred separate components and equipment, which may be used to fix issues with the display, battery, and camera of newer iPhone models.

Later this year, the repair store will expand from iPhones to Macs. According to LifeHacker, “When the program is fully operational, you’ll be able to order parts for your iPhone or Mac directly from Apple, access manuals for accurate repair information, and rent tools to make sure you have the equipment you need to complete the repair.”

To start the Self Service Repair process, a customer will first review the repair manual for the product they want to repair by visiting support.apple.com/self-service-repair. Then, they can visit the Apple Self Service Repair Store and order the necessary parts and tools.

Apple’s WWDC 2022 Event

The World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2022 is set to take place on June 6 at 10 AM PST.

All of Apple’s future software releases, including iOS 16, iPadOS 16, watchOS 9, macOS 13, and tvOS 16, will be covered in this article. Also, it is possible that Apple may reveal new hardware or tease a product that will be released in the near future.

9to5 Mac states on their website, “Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman says iOS 16 could build future support for an always-on lock screen on the long-rumored iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max.”

Despite the fact that WWDC is meant to be a conference for developers, everyone is eagerly awaiting the release of new operating system upgrades for Apple products.

You can watch this event on the Apple TV app or Apple.com.

Sharing a WiFi Password Through iPhones

iPhones include a handy feature that will allow you to share WiFi passwords to other iPhones. Although the execution is simplistic enough, there is a checklist:

First off, when using two iPhones to share a WiFi password, ensure sure they are both within range of each other. It’s also recommended that you make sure that your WiFi and Bluetooth are turned on and that your Apple ID is set up to allow you to share passwords with other people. You can do this by checking the toggles in the Settings app.

Both owners’ Apple IDs need to be in the other’s Contacts. Unless both of your Apple accounts are included in your contact list, shared files will not be available.

One iPhone has to be connected to the WiFi, while the other is trying to connect. Tap the Password Sharing button when a message pops up, requesting to provide the password.

The WiFi network’s password will be copied to the other phone and automatically filled in so that you may join the network.

Your Mac Performance and Storage Space

If your startup disk is getting close to being full, you might get a warning about it. If you choose to ignore this warning, there is a chance that your Mac will no longer boot after you restart it. You might run into problems if your Mac doesn’t have enough storage space.

When there is insufficient storage space on your Mac, you may experience a number of problems as well as a noticeable delay, which prevents it from functioning at its maximum capacity. You may be unable to install a macOS update on your device if there is insufficient free space available on the device.

Your Mac breaks down and displays, under the Overview menu, the total amount of storage space that is being used by the various types of files that you have on your computer. The Finder provides a number of different approaches to calculating the amount of available storage space on your hard drive.

You could delete each individual file contained within the System folder using the delete key on your keyboard. You should only proceed in this manner if you are positive and are confident in that knowledge. In the event that something goes wrong with your Mac, you should make sure that you have a comprehensive backup of its storage.

Communication Safety Feature Expanded

After a few weeks of testing, Apple has finally made the most recent versions of its mobile operating systems, iOS 15.5 and iPadOS 15.5, available to the general public as of today.

With this specific version, iOS 15.5, the Communication Safety in Messages feature is now accessible in the United Kingdom, along with Australia, Canada, and New Zealand, according to reports.

This application, which was once accessible to users in the United States, is called Communication Safety in Messages, and it was developed to identify instances of nudity in images sent or received over iMessage on children’s electronic devices.

If it finds any, it will let the user know that the images in question could contain potentially harmful content. If a kid receives an image that depicts any inappropriate adult content, the photograph will be altered, and the youngster will be given information from organizations that advocate for the protection of children.

If a kid sends a photo to another child that contains related content, the recipient will get a notification warning them that the child is not allowed to share the image again.

Back in March, we made a blog post about how one feature in particular had become into a contentious topic of debate in a variety of online discussion boards.

Apple’s iPod is Phasing Out

In 2007, Apple released the first iPod touch, which was an instant success among consumers who desired the iPhone form factor but didn’t care for cellular connectivity. But recently, Apple confirmed that it will no longer produce the iPod touch. The business claims that the product will only be sold on a “while supplies last” basis.

According to 9to5Mac, “The current seventh-generation iPod touch was introduced in 2019. It’s powered by an A10 Fusion chip that first debuted in the iPhone 7. It features a 4-inch display and is available in an array of colors. This, however, will be the end of the iPod touch.”

Even though the iPod was popular, it will no longer be part of Apple’s lineup.
