Network Card Disconnects You from Wi-Fi

If your computer keeps disconnecting from your Wi-Fi network, but other devices can connect just fine, it may be that the network card in your computer is not receiving enough power.

A network card is a piece of hardware that connects computers in a network.

Windows includes an energy-saving mode that immediately lowers network card power consumption. You may be able to disable it. Here’s how to do that:

  1. Go to the Power Options menu
  2. Choose the Advanced Settings.
  3. Click the Wireless Adaptor Settings
  4. Go to Power Saving Mode
  5. Choose Maximum Performance
