Kids are also dependent on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.karlstechnology.com\/blog\/computer-technology-for-kids\/\">computers<\/a> to help with schooling. And with all the amount of resources available to them, parents can easily become concerned. Restrictions need to be in place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Windows OS allows you to add child accounts with parental controls set in place to block unwanted websites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">First, to create a child account, follow the steps below:<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Go to <strong>Settings<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Accounts<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Family &amp; other users<\/strong><\/li><li>Click the <strong>Add a family member<\/strong>, under <strong>Your Family<\/strong><\/li><li>Click <strong>Add a child<\/strong>, enter their e-mail address (if applicable), and click <strong>Next<\/strong><\/li><li>Click <strong>Confirm<\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>An e-mail will be sent to the address provided, requesting them to join to complete the addition process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Second, to block websites, follow the steps below:<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Go to <strong>Settings<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Accounts<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Family and other users<\/strong><\/li><li>Click <strong>Manage family settings online<\/strong>, located under <strong>Add a family member<\/strong><\/li><li>Click on <strong>More options<\/strong><\/li><li>On the drop-down menu, click on <strong>Content restrictions<\/strong><\/li><li>Click on <strong>Block inappropriate websites<\/strong> to turn it on<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Turning on the Block inappropriate websites will block all adult websites. This will turn your SafeSearch on, which is quite the handy feature on Windows 10. You can also add websites that you want to allow, and add websites that you want to block. This is optional, however. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When kids attempt to access any websites that are on the blocked list, an Ask for permission box will pop up. This will state that they will need to request permission from an adult family member to access the website.
