Updates left and right are causing a plethora of issues for users, and this most recent problem isn&#8217;t any better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>February 11, 2020 KB4532693 update has been apparently removing files off of their PC&#8217;s, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/en-us\/help\/4532693\/windows-10-update-kb4532693\">Microsoft Community<\/a>.  This in turn has caused it to revert back to its default settings. Many have shared that after uninstalling the update and resetting, their PC continued to develop problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One <a href=\"https:\/\/answers.microsoft.com\/en-us\/windows\/forum\/all\/cumulative-updates-february-11th-2020\/548d4ded-39a1-4270-a866-627ea7c25de6?page=10\">user wrote<\/a>,<em> &#8220;This update KB4532693 caused all the data on my laptop to be erased. Even after uninstalling the update, the laptop would not successfully boot. Then &#8220;Resetting&#8221; the laptop to factory settings while choosing to keep all personal data erased everything. EVERYTHING.&#8221;&nbsp; <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">To uninstall KB4532693, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.windowslatest.com\/2020\/02\/16\/windows-10-kb4532693-update-is-now-causing-boot-failures\/\"><strong>Windows Latest<\/strong><\/a> says to follow these steps:<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><em>Press Windows key + I to open the Settings app. Update &amp; Security and then on Windows Update.<\/em><\/li><li><em>Click on the \u2018View update history\u2019 button and then on \u2018Uninstall updates\u2019.<\/em><\/li><li><em>You can now select the update you want to uninstall and click the \u2018Uninstall\u2019 button.<\/em><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><em>If you\u2019re unable to uninstall the patch from the Settings app, you can also remove it from the command line using the WUSA tool. To do so, follow these steps:<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><em>Open Windows Command prompt (cmd.exe).<\/em><\/li><li><em>Run Command prompt as administrator<\/em><\/li><li><em>Use the command wusa \/uninstall \/kb:4532693 \/quiet<\/em><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Not all PC&#8217;s were affected by this update. In fact, if you installed it and didn&#8217;t experience issues, there&#8217;s no need to do anything further.
