The United States Department of Homeland Security\u2019s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) released a warning post on January 8th. This warning is not to be taken lightly. On <a href=\"https:\/\/www.us-cert.gov\/ncas\/current-activity\/2020\/01\/08\/mozilla-patches-critical-vulnerability\">their website<\/a>, they state the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Mozilla has released security updates to address a vulnerability in Firefox, Firefox ESR, and Thunderbird. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability to take control of an affected system. This vulnerability was detected in exploits in the wild.<\/p><p>The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) encourages users and administrators to review the Mozilla Security Advisories for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mozilla.org\/en-US\/security\/advisories\/mfsa2020-03\/#CVE-2019-17026\">Firefox 72.0.1 and Firefox ESR 68.4.1<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mozilla.org\/en-US\/security\/advisories\/mfsa2020-04\/\">Thunderbird 68.4.1<\/a>\u00a0and apply the necessary updates.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Mozilla knows about this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mozilla.org\/en-US\/security\/advisories\/mfsa2020-03\/\">recent attack<\/a>, and is also encouraging users to update their browser, claiming the impact to be critical. According to Mozilla, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mozilla.org\/en-US\/security\/advisories\/\">critical means<\/a>, <em>&#8221; Vulnerability can be used to run attacker code and install software, requiring no user interaction beyond normal browsing.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>On a Mac, simply launch Firefox and click <strong>About<\/strong>, then <strong>Firefox<\/strong> and click <strong>Restart to update Firefox<\/strong>.<\/p><p>On a PC, launch Firefox and go under either <strong>Options<\/strong>, then <strong>Firefox Updates<\/strong>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p> For help updating, restoring or dealing with computer issues, call us at\u00a0<a href=\"tel:1-800-620-5285\">1-800-620-5285<\/a>. \u00a0Karls Technology is a nationwide computer service company with offices in many major cities.
