In certain Windows 10 installations, RASMAN, or &#8220;Remote Access Connection Manager&#8221; is often crucial to have operating in the background.  VPN features and dial-up connections are used by this Manager and many VPN connections may have trouble working when RASMAN is disabled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Microsoft&#8217;s Statement<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Microsoft writes in their <strong>Known Issues<\/strong> that,<em> &#8220;RASMAN service may stop working and you may receive the error \u201c0xc0000005\u201d on devices where the diagnostic data level is manually configured to the non-default setting of 0. You may also receive an error in the<\/em><strong><em>\u00a0Application section\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><em>of\u00a0<\/em><strong><em>Windows Logs<\/em><\/strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><strong><em>in Event Viewer\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><em>with Event ID 1000 referencing \u201csvchost.exe_RasMan\u201d and \u201crasman.dll\u201d.This issue only occurs when a VPN profile is configured as an Always On VPN (AOVPN) connection with or without device tunnel. This does not affect manual only VPN profiles or connections.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Windows 10 older version, 1803 and 1809 aren&#8217;t affected by this bug. To alleviate this issue, you can try the <strong>Workaround<\/strong>, provided below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.karlstechnology.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/Annotation-2019-07-08-114743-1024x524.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-499\" width=\"655\" height=\"333\" \/><figcaption>source: support.microsoft.com<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p> Microsoft noted that they are hoping to fix the problem by the end of July, so keep an eye out.
